By the time I entered college, I was on track to becoming a speech pathologist. Brain functioning and teaching have always fascinated me. After completing a B.S. and M.S. degree in speech pathology and communicative disorders at one of the top Universities in the field, I was required to take the National Exam and finish a clinical fellowship year.
My years of training and experience have been varied. My goal was always to take my experience and open my own business in the field. I wanted to treat my clients in the way I always felt treatment should be! With that I took my philosophy of making a child feel strong and confident and you can accomplish almost anything! Every day I look forward to the challenges of helping my clients attain their goals!! I find myself blessed!
I do speech/language and hearing screenings for many nursery schools in the area of Millburn/Short Hills, South Orange, Maplewood, Springfield, Summit, Chatham, and Florham Park. I assess and treat children with varied communicative disorders. Keep in contact with parents, schools, doctors about a child's progress. Make recommendations for schools and parents to aid in carry over of new skills acquired in therapy. Do staff development for pre- school teachers and parents.
I have also worked in many clinical settings since receiving my graduate degree and certifications. They include hospital, acute and sub-acute, clinics, nursing homes, home care and private practice.
Specialties include: Assessment and treatment of children ages 3- 14 years of age speech, language and auditory processing difficulties.( Diagnosis: Developmental Disorders, ADHD, Language/Learning Disorders & Spectrum Disorders)
